Son of the Antwerp painter of the same name (active c. 1629-1682/83), Pieter Casteels the Younger joined the guild in 1673/74. He was married to Elisabeth Bosschaert. His son, pieter III (1684-1749), was a painter and printmaker who specialized in flower paintings.
